Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) started as a Vocational Centre in 2000, carving a niche in Land Surveying. Noting a growing demand for such a specialisation, Geomatika submitted an application for college status and obtained the approval from the Ministry of Education.

Due to overwhelming demand, Geomatika established its Department of Geospatial and Land Development and launched the Centre of GIS (CeGIS) Short Courses Program in Geospatial Technology as well as Certificate in Land Assistantship Surveying.
As part of the Malaysian tertiary education ecosystem, UGM aligned its strategies with The National Transformational Program (NTP) under the NKEA, in tandem with the nation's plan to be a developed nation by 2020. In 2014, GUC was awarded the status of a full university college by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

Reach
Geomatika Educational Group has established satellite campuses in Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and Keningau. We are planning to launch additional satellite campuses in Malaysia and abroad — continuing our mission to provide excellent tertiary education to local and international students.
